New Beginnings!

New Beginnings: Keeping Roots & Wings

We are embarking on a new horizon in our lives. As with many milestones in life, my youngest son’s recent high school graduation marks a very big one for me. I have now raised both of my sons and watched them receive their high school diplomas, helped them through the exciting and tedious task of selecting a college, finding scholarships, financial aid, and so forth. I am pretty sure it hasn’t hit me quite yet because I still find myself cruising through my days at high speeds, needing to remind myself to slow down to enjoy the “little moments”. With my older son already moved out on his own and my younger son merely days from moving into his college dorm, this is where I find my greatest conflict. The joy of seeing my son spread his wings as he goes to college for the first time, the excitement of the next chapter of our lives back at home, and the knowledge as I walk around my house, very soon, everything will change…again.

My husband and I have made the decision to drastically downsize our lifestyle after my son leaves for college. We have not quite decided upon what form it will take yet, but we are leaning heavily towards either full time living in a tiny house or an RV for a bit of adventure. This will not likely be a “forever” change, so we will be packing up our most precious things and putting them into storage. Follow us on our journey as we explore our options, transition from our sprawling suburban home to a tiny house on the road. Things are about to get interesting around here!!!

Wherever life takes us next, we will face it together.
